Welder
Department: Rework
Basic Function:
Complete maintenance, repair, and modifications on airframe components and assemblies for aircrafts.
Essential duties are as follows but are not limited to:
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Performs advanced welding activities with minimum instructions and supervision.
- Interprets complex blueprints, manufacturing drawing and written work instructions, as well as reads and interprets AWS welding symbols.
- Positions weldment details in location using fixtures, jigs, tape measure, square, rule, and caliper to meet blueprint, manufacturing drawings and quality requirements.
- Observes and practices safety procedures and policies.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience; 3-5 years of experience in Aerospace welding; TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) manual welding with Inconel and stainless-steel metals required.
- Must have fundamental understanding of AWS D17.1 and NADCAP requirements.
- Must have experience working with aerospace materials.
- Ability to perform welds that pass a visual inspection and destructive test.
- Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, squares, rules, and dial calipers)
- Knowledge of various welding machines and set up.
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Must comply with Jager-2 Vision test compliance.
- Must be able to pass welding testing for qualification to Mil Std. 1595/ AWS D17.1
- AWS D17.1 certification is a plus.
- Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
Basic Schedule:
7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday, additional time as needed.
